Job Summary:

Manage Finance and Investment Operations of Great Eastern Takaful Berhad by ensuring high quality and efficiency of processes as well as to comply with all rules and regulations.

Job Description:

  • Ensure payments are smooth, adequately monitored and controlled.
  • Ensure bank reconciliations are timely and accurate.
  • Monitor and manage Company’s cash flows, interfund and intercompany balances efficiently.
  • Manage all matters related to Investment Operations such as review and submit investment assets records for monthly Profit and Market Risk Capital Charges (PRCC and MRCC)
  • Prepare the necessary input, documents and analysis relating to Asset Liability Management (ALM) for GETB as well as Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment (ICAAP) related documents and any other input needed relating to investment.
  • Prepare and review the manual journals for IFRS17 reporting and support the IFRS17 team on monthly closing.
  • Manage input and queries in relation to monthly Expense Allocation for IFRS17.
  • Act as Department Complaint Representative (DCR) and Department Risk Officer for Finance Department.
  • Ensure financial data are accurately and timely reported, including core system (OFIN) setups and relevant UATs.
  • Involved and efficiently manage those projects that requires Finance and Investment Operations participation.
  • Develop relevant policies, guidelines and manuals to ensure they are reviewed regularly and approved at the relevant management committee meetings.
  • Ensure full compliance with accounting standards and other relevant rules and regulations as well as to ensure audit pass for the team.

Job Specification:

  • Recognized degree in Accounting, Finance, Insurance / Takaful / Banking discipline. Professional qualification in related field / experience in IFRS 17 will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 10 years’ relevant working experience in similar capacity in Takaful / Insurance Company.
  • Able to work under high pressure environment and able to deliver within tight timelines.
  • Independent and able to work with minimal guidance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work cross functionally as and when required
  • Strong communication skills – written and spoken
  • High level of integrity takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork.
  • Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes
