Job Summary :

A Business Technology Solution (BA) is responsible for evaluating and improving General Insurance Core system end to end processes. Responsibilities includes gathering and analysing data, identifying business needs, creating documentation, and recommending solution to enhance efficiency and productivity. The BA act as a bridge between stakeholders, vendor and IT teams to ensure that business requirements are effectively translated into technical solutions. Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.

Job Description :

  • Understand, gather and analyze business functional needs and requirement (As-Is-Process) and define (To-Be-Process) mapping back against General Insurance (GI) Core system and relevant internal & external front end system for a change request or enhancement implementation
  • Work closely with business process owner to provide overall guidance in the fit-gap analysis to identify operation/business process inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement for the system used
  • Facilitating design sessions with the implementation team to define the solution
  • Investigating compatibility with the existing operating environment, assesses cost benefit factors that involves budgetary/resources impact to the organization and work closely with internal stakeholders/business owner during solutioning phase to derive a complete business case
  • Responsible for functional specification of end-to-end solutions delivery, deployment, system integration and user acceptance of the product/system/application
  • Play a System Owner role for the module or application assigned to create, develop, manage the system development roadmap and maintain a RSA/Change Request enhancement backlog
  • Perform requirement/idea request prioritization process according to business values and mandatory regulatory compliance deadlines (is applicable)
  • Lead the application release planning and set expectation for delivery of new functionalities with business stakeholders

  • Maintain awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company
  • Highlight any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices

The Person:

  • Degree Holder in Computer Science, Information Technology, or any other related disciplines
  • At least 8 years working experience in General Insurance (GI) industry preferable as a Business Analyst role
  • Good knowledge of General Insurance related system and its operational processes in an asset
  • Strong facilitation, coordination, interpersonal, negotiation & communication skills
  • Sharp conflict management and problem-solving skills
  • Highly people oriented with ability to lead, drive, motivate and coach
  • Strong IT Risk and governance management mindset
  • Good command of English language[both spoken and written]. Mandarin proficiency is an added advantage
  • Possess high leadership skills and effective communication skills
  • High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork
  • Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes
