Responsible for building and expanding advocacy with institutional partners, including corporates and bi-laterals/ multi-laterals to develop new programmes within the Impact Areas Leads (Environment) with the aim to continuously improve the quality of education and sustainability of natural environment & practices.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Develop networks and Advocacy within the Impact areas (Environment) to support Hasanah objectives in nation-building and sustainability development agenda.
  • Develop and implement a Advocacy to increase the reach and impact of ongoing efforts in advancing Hasanah’s impact area of the Environment.
  • Develop systems and procedures in support of the identification, engagement, and development of Advocacy.
  • Conceptualize new strategic initiatives that could be built around or benefit from corporate, foundations, governments, bilateral organizations, or other advocacy for the environment impact area.
  • Coordinate the management of ongoing relationships with existing stakeholders, partners and where relevant, leverage those relationships to greater collective impact. Strategize and implement ways to optimize and leverage relationships to forward Hasanah’s cause.
  • Drive a relationship management program to support partners, non-profit organisations, corporations and Government agencies’ strategic initiatives.
  • Project and promote YH programme initiatives to new audiences, stakeholders and partners. Work together with the Strategic Communications Unit to organize events, and design brochures and collaterals and activities to promote YH Foundation and programmes.
  • Conduct research for organizations and individuals to find new opportunities in collaboration with the Knowledge team. Continuously keep well informed of current environmental issues and national agendas.
  • Strong communication and coordination with internal teams and external partners is a daily routine. Coordinate with internal teams on partnership decisions and manage sensitive communications with external partners.
  • Negotiating terms for new partnerships, amendments, and renewals working closely with the Programme Coordination team. Possesses capabilities to assist in the evaluation and selection of credible grant partners. Also able to provide innovative ideas, guidance and solutions to support grant partners, in collaboration with the Grant support team.
  • Track development of and performance accountability for innovative or new approaches and solutions.
  • Able to review and analyse development plans, advocacy papers, policy, and legislation pertaining to Environment Ecosystem/Space megatrends both locally and abroad, with a view to adapt for local implementation.
  • Coordinate and organize meetings or events between relevant stakeholders and parties and prepare and present written case reports with detailed analysis and recommendations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environment Science/Natural Resources Management/Sustainability/Climate Change or any related disciplines with at least Second-Class Upper Honours from a reputable university. An MBA will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 9-15 years of working experience in a related field preferably a managerial position in related disciplines, knowledge and experience in leadership, school transformation, mental health, and/or psychosocial wellbeing is an added advantage.
  • A genuine interest and knowledge of nature conservation, biological diversity and/or sustainability issue in Malaysia.
  • Good Knowledge of Social and Environmental Impact Measurement tools and other relevant tools to measure project outcome and sustainability.
  • Strong organisational and operational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Able to take initiative and complete project assignments independently or as part of a team; Must be able to work in a close, cross-functional team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to communicate well at all levels of the organization, as well as with stakeholders, grant partners and external parties. Strong creative and problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
  • Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia both verbal and written, and good communication skills.
  • Able to take initiative and complete project assignments independently or as part of a team; Must be able to work in a close, cross-functional team environment.
  • Must be able to multi-task during peak periods and be able to work with deadlines.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and focus on results.
