Project description

Our client, a leading consulting firm, is seeking a consultant with extensive risk management experience, specifically in distributor finance products to support their client in the BFSI sector.

The consultant will join a project team focused on trade finance within the banking sector, ideally with a background in Southeast Asia. This role is primarily remote, with an estimated start date ASAP, and will require 20% of the consultant's time over an 8-week period.

The main goal is to bring in expertise to develop key deliverables alongside with a junior team member, ensuring the project's success by providing insights from a seasoned trade finance risk management professional.

What you will be doing

  • Collaborating with the project team to develop key deliverables related to distributor finance products.
  • Leveraging extensive risk management experience to guide the project, working closely with a more junior team member from the consulting team.
  • Providing subject matter expertise in trade finance risk management, drawing from previous banking sector experience in SEA.
  • Ensuring the deliverables meet the project's objectives and align with the client's risk management framework.
  • Reporting progress and insights to project leads, contributing to strategy development and implementation.

Your background

  • 7-10+ years of experience in risk management within the banking sector, with a focus on trade finance.
  • Former experience as a trade finance risk manager, ideally in the SEA region.
  • Strong background in distributor finance products and understanding of associated risks.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team, providing expertise and mentoring junior team members.
  • Preferred experience in developing risk management frameworks and strategies within financial institutions.
