Position purpose The primary role of the Senior Administrative Executive, Grants and Opportunities is to support the Grants & Commercialisation Lead in the overall monitoring and reporting of research areas to achieve Monash University Malaysia’s research targets, objectives and aspirations. Reporting line: The position reports to the Grants & Commercialisation Lead under general direction. Supervisory responsibilities: Not applicable Financial delegation: Not applicable Budget responsibilities: Not applicable Key responsibilities 1.Work closely with researchers and research administrators to ensure that Monash University Malaysia meets its reporting obligations to Monash University, the government, ministries, regulatory and other external bodies. 2.Support external grants periodic data collection and data management, ensuring efficient and high quality data reporting. 3. Support the Grants & Commercialisation Lead in managing and implementing high level audits on research grant projects, especially high risk grants, ensuring compliance to funding bodies and University policies and guidelines. 4. Lead and coordinate operational activities related to project variations of research grants to ensure the changes made are complying to funding bodies and University policies and guidelines. 5. Lead in continuous monitoring of research grant projects, from initiation to closure, ensuring research grant projects are managed efficiently, honestly and with integrity. 6. Support other areas of the Research Excellence Unit by adopting flexible and innovative working arrangements as and when required. Key selection criteria 1.The appointee should have a degree with research experience. 2. Experience in managing government grants including navigating MyGrants system is an added advantage. 3. Proven ability to build and sustain cooperative relationships with an extensive network of colleagues, clients and stakeholders both internally and externally. 4. Demonstrated experience in managing projects, ideally research projects. 5. Strong oral and written communication skills with the proven ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical individuals. 6. Ability to work as a part of a team in a service function whilst operating in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders.
