Job Description:
(a) Minimum experience: 3 to 5 years PQE in civil litigation
and advisory work;
(b) Able to work independently as well with the team of
lawyers in the firm;
(c) Strong interpersonal skills and ability to articulate and
communicate effectively;
(d) Positive attitude and must be willing to learn; and
(e) Prior experience in intellectual property practice (“IP”)
will be an added advantage given the firm’s focus being
IP practice, but not a requisite. Necessary training will be
provided.
(2) Paralegal
(a) Monitoring and maintaining IP portfolio post-grant,
including renewal deadlines and recordals;
(b) Preparing the requisite forms and submitting
electronically or manually with the Intellectual Property
Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO);
(c) Corresponding with clients regarding documentation and
formality requirements for filing, reporting filed matters
and general client correspondence;
(d) Liaising with MyIPO officers on renewal and recordal
applications, ensuring issuance of relevant notifications
and online records duly updated; and
(e) Ad hoc functions may be assigned from time to time, and
as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements:
(a) Diploma or degree in Law or any related fields.
(b) Prior experience in IP specifically will be advantageous.
(c) A good command of the English language, both written
and spoken.
(d) Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office.
(e) Good time and task management skills.
(f) Able to work in a fast-paced environment with attention
to detail and under minimum supervision.
(g) A good team player.
(h) Possess a high level of commitment and responsibility.
