Underwriter Executive (New Business)

• Underwrite and approve new business up to conferred authority. Exercise responsible on risk selection and completes process within agreed servce benchmarks.
• Ensures that the underwriting requests processed are done prudently and in accordance to all regulatory and corporate requirements.
• Supports the manager in process improvement by continuously review processes, identify and resolve service gaps through constructive feedback and implement improvement where appropriate.
• Assist in problems and complaints resolution. Ensures complaints are resolved or responded within service benchmarks.
• Attend to enquiries from inter-department staff, Southern Region branches and agency force.
• Relieve other underwriters as and when required to ensure the underwriting service level is well maintained.
• Act as a backup for branch operations and assume the responsibilities as and when required.
• Ensure compliance to policies, guidelines and regulations.
• Perform other duties as delegated by the Management.

Job Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Professional Degree in Science or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of working experience in underwriting or relevant is required.
• Possess knowledge on life underwriting for all type of benefits, life insurance practices, regulations and law - Insurance Act & Financial Services Act 2013, medical terms, diseases, mortality, morbidity, interpretation of diagnostic tests, risk selection methods, terms and conditions of policy contract, insurance products and definitions of covered events.
• Excellent customer service skills, good communication skills, excellent team player, proactive, keeps current with developments and changes in underwriting field.
• Applicants must be willing to work in Johor Bahru.
