The Role

We are seeking a proactive and dynamic Business Development Manager to establish and our new entity in Selangor. You will be the key person on the ground, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our used cooking oil (UCO) collection business, driving business development, and engaging with local communities. This role will report directly to headquarters in Singapore.

This role will be based in Selangor, Malaysia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operations Management: Oversee daily UCO collection operations, including managing drivers and operational staff, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining quality control.
  • Business Development: Identify and secure new suppliers and business opportunities. Collaborate with headquarters to develop and implement effective sales strategies. Monitor market trends affecting feedstock availability and prices.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain relationships with local stakeholders, including suppliers, government bodies, NGOs, and community leaders, to drive collaboration and support for UCO recycling efforts.
  • Community Engagement: Actively engage with local communities, schools, NGOs, and government agencies to raise awareness and promote UCO recycling initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in operations management or business development; experience in the waste management or bioenergy sector is a plus.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing operational teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly in community outreach and partnership-building.
  • Experience working with the B2B community and government agencies is a strong advantage.
