Position: Senior Construction Manager

Key Accountabilities:

The Senior Construction Manager will oversee and direct the construction management process from the pre-contract stage to post-contract completion. This role involves ensuring that all construction activities are executed to the highest quality standards, within budget and on schedule, while managing teams, resources, and materials for the project.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Pre-Contract Stage:

  • Review project plans, specifications, and blueprints to provide constructability input.
  • Assist in budgeting, scheduling, and overall planning for construction activities.
  • Liaise with project teams and procurement departments to define resource needs and construction methodologies.
  • Engage with suppliers, subcontractors, and stakeholders to coordinate and align project expectations before contract commencement.

2. Post-Contract Stage:

  • Construction Management:
  • Oversee daily construction activities to ensure adherence to the project timeline, quality standards, and safety protocols.
  • Manage subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to optimize efficiency and minimize disruptions.
  • Monitor project milestones, resolve site issues, and manage any deviations from the original plans.
  • Quality and Compliance:
  • Ensure all work complies with regulatory requirements, contractual obligations, and company policies.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure workmanship and material quality.
  • Ensure project safety and compliance with industry best practices and safety regulations.
  • Reporting and Communication:
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on progress, risks, and project performance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure open communication and resolve any concerns or conflicts that may arise.
  • Material and Resource Management:
  • Coordinate and manage the procurement of construction materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Ensure timely delivery and cost-effectiveness of materials without compromising quality.

3. Contract Close-Out:

  • Coordinate final inspections, ensure punch list completion, and manage the final handover of the project.
  • Ensure all documentation and certifications are properly filed and archived.
  • Oversee the final reconciliation of accounts and project close-out activities.
