At the end of each production process, the finished product must be efficiently and functionally packed and secured for transport. The technology at the end of the process chain needs to function correctly and reliably to ensure the smooth running of the entire process and avoid costly downtime.

Mosca offers the best available end-of-line packaging solutions. Headquartered in Germany and operating worldwide, we are one of Germany’s “hidden champions”, a family-owned company with over 50 years of experience and reputation for quality and reliability in the field strapping and securing goods in transit. Our innovative strength and pioneering spirit made us the technology leader in the strapping industry.

Malaysia is since 20 years home to two manufacturing entities, making strapping machines and materials. Fast-growing sales to Asia and the rest of the world, allowed us moving to brand-new, much bigger factories in Johor. A packed project pipeline will further turbo-charge this expansion. We aim for a much wider range of machines and strapping materials with ever greater performance, serving much wider customers application needs while maintaining a sustainability approach that is inherent to what Mosca stands for.

Our big plans need leadership on materials and technology development, innovative engineering & design, raising manufacturing efficiency, increased local sourcing and supplier development, all embedded in our global R&D, manufacturing and sales strategies. Malaysia stands for many ambitions the group wishes to realise in the coming years. Optimizing our manufacturing capacities worldwide requires expanding in Malaysia, with uncompromising focus on competitive advantages and ascertaining optimal use of capabilities and resources as member of the Mosca Group.

Managing Director (Malaysia)

Your remit:

  • Full P&L remit for two, existing subsidiaries (strapping band and machines), including contribution to costing and pricing design as part of our international sales.
  • Lead the local businesses in line with global strategies to double sales in the next five years.
  • Close cooperation and local ownership of new product and process developments, further advancement of technologies and machine assemblies currently located in Europe.
  • Initiation and relentless pursuit of efficiency, productivity and localisation drives.
  • Ongoing updates of buildings, facilities and machinery to accommodate expansion.
  • Local ownership of all global projects ranging from new materials, different production methodologies, alternatives to existing and adoption of new machine assemblies.
  • Contribute to Mosca’s technical leadership through best manufacturing processes in teamwork with peers in other production locations worldwide (Europe & Americas).
  • Expand the Malaysian workforce with foresight on capacity, competencies and grooming our top talent for future and bigger managerial responsibilities.
  • Ongoing reporting with meaningful dashboards mirroring all key processes, inventory and financials for a constructive engagement with regional directors and global board.
  • Interface and partner with global divisional vice presidents to implement their functional strategies in an impactful, locally effective manner.
  • Represent Mosca towards all national, state and local authorities covering investments, customs, taxation, labour issues and more.
  • Uphold all ESG principles of Mosca as a group, contribute to pioneering environmental and sustainability principles, uphold Mosca as an employer of choice.
  • Your profile

  • Global mindset, local experience, ideally by having established and/or run, profitably, a manufacturing facility in Malaysia sized larger than 30 - 50 staff and MYR 15-25 Million sales.
  • Track record for innovation and change leading to evolving production methods with documented improvements including their financial impact.
  • Proud owner of technological leadership combined deploying nimble methods to stay locally and globally competitive with a compromise to quality and reliability.
  • Happy to live in Asia, making Johor your (new) home, groom Malaysian talent and our impressive capabilities there. Equally able to blend into a traditional yet hugely innovative and sustainable German hidden champion.
  • Engineering background with a good feel, and experience, for commercial realities. You pioneered, expanded and have a sharp eye on cost and productivity. No matter how technical you are, never forget: our company is made up by our people.
