Job Purpose:
- Assist in financial reporting and ensure the smooth running of the Finance Department to meet and exceed the expectations in line with our organization's vision and mission.
- Provide financial commentary to analyze the financial position and performance of the Company.
- Liaise with other departments, consistent review and improve the existing workflow process, or implement of new system.
- Oversee the return of equipment processes, ensure efficient handling of equipment returns, repairs, and replacements, and minimize associated costs and operational disruptions.
Job Scope:
Financial Reporting Analysis, Group Reporting and Compliance
- Advise and provide information to Finance Shared Service Centre (FSSC) for any manual or ad-hoc journal entries for month-end closing.
- Prepare monthly management reports and compile them with other financial reports such as aging, notes to account, etc., after month-end closing performed by FSSC.
- Assist superior in preparing reports for group reporting, annual audit, and income tax compliance.
- Assist superior in tax planning and optimization of tax incentives.
- Assist in GIAD and SST submission.
- Adherence to statutory requirements, including but not limited to external audit and tax compliance.
Departmental P&L released
- Prepare and release the monthly departmental P&L to all the HODs on time.
- Revert any queries from the HODs.
Consultant payment
- To verify and monitor the monthly consultant payment, for example, consultant fee, retainer fee and medical reimbursement.
- Ensure all payments are on time and accurate.
Audit and Tax queries
- Attend to all the auditors and tax queries.
- Ensure to meet the audit and tax timeline.
Prepare the Annual Business Plan
- Prepare the departmental template of the budget for all the HODs.
- Compile and prepare the annual business plan in terms of overall company and by departmental.
System and Reporting
- Collaborate closely with IT and other stakeholders to address system-related challenges and implement improvements.
- Identify compliance gaps or risks that require a change of workflow or process.
Others
- Assist in ad-hoc tasks or projects assigned.
- Identify and make recommendations to improve process flow, quality of data, and data integrity.
Job Requirement:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or any professional or finance equivalent. Preferably with certification of CFA/ICAEW/ACCA/CPA/MIA/CIMA, or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 to 7 years of relevant working experience in accounting and financial reporting with at least 1 year of experience in leading a team. Candidate with a minimum of 3 years of audit and tax experience would be an added advantage.
- Strong in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Analytical and highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information.
- Maintains a high level of integrity and professionalism in handling confidential information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
