Role Purpose

As an Assistant Manager Product Development, you are responsible in managing the end-to-end lifecycle of our travel products, from development, optimization, to innovation of products .You are required to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams (digital, marketing, operations, finance, customer service, legal) to ensure product meets the needs of our travellers and that it is aligned with MAG LTS's strategic goals and objectives. This is a pivotal role in defining and shaping our digital product strategy and offerings. Key responsibilities include strategy planning, market research, idea generation, conceptualisation, testing, project management, quality control, post launch analysis, monitoring and improvement. Candidate is also required to ensure the online platform is able to support various travel related services, and ensuring seamless UI/UX for customer to search, book and manage their travel arrangements with ease.

Key Accountability

  • Conceptualise and develop the holiday and travel products for Travel Services platforms. This includes negotiating air fares and attributes, conducting UAT testing on features before releasing to production, and soliciting approvals from management on business rules and pricing for the features and platforms.
  • Competitor research & benchmarking and keep track of industry trends that has implication to business on travel products and services with proposed action items from findings.
  • Design new processes for new products & features.
  • Develop products for cross sell in the holiday platforms.
  • Vendor SLA tracking and support lead in managing operational / working teams.
  • Project manage the holiday platform implementation for all tracks to ensure deliverables are met.
  • Develop business standards and thresholds, assist in quality control testing.
  • Support lead to establish pricing strategy / framework for products and set markup pricing for BAU always on.
  • Cross sell/ product bundle creation.
  • Determine business rules.
  • Prepare and track budgets.
  • Develop fares / pricings, commissions and margins.
  • Collaborate with marketing, digital, finance, operations, customer support, Airline Business, Group
  • Legal teams to ensure smooth rollout of features.
  • Incorporate personalisation tools to provide users with tailored recommendations.
  • Maintain business licenses and regulatory requirements.
  • Reconcile report with commission set.

Qualifications & Working Experience

  • Degree in Marketing, Finance or Business Administration with 5 years' work experience in holiday platforms (OTA), travel commerce or related field.
  • Excellent Project Management skills with proven track record in managing complex projects and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Good stakeholder management skills to ensure stakeholders expectations are well managed and aligned.
  • Strong understanding of travel commerce platforms, digital technologies, and user experience principles.
  • Budget management skills and proficiency.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office.
  • Skills to forecast and identify trends and challenges.
