ASSISTANT YARD SUPERVISOR

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Yard Assistant Supervisor for our Container and Cabin Production and Fabrication Yard. The ideal candidate will primarily focus on managing general workers and overseeing the stock inventory of yard assets, including product containers and cabins. This role requires strong on-site project management skills, with a primary responsibility for coordinating and supervising the activities of general workers to ensure efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of general workers within the yard, including assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Manage the stock inventory of yard assets, including product containers and cabins, to ensure accurate record-keeping and efficient utilization of resources.
• Oversee the loading and unloading of containers and cabins, ensuring proper handling procedures are followed to prevent damage.
• Coordinate with the production and fabrication teams to prioritize workload and ensure timely completion of projects.
• Conduct regular inspections of the yard to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and areas for improvement.
• Train new hires and provide ongoing guidance and support to general workers to enhance their skills and performance.
• Collaborate with other department supervisors and managers to streamline workflow and optimize resource allocation.
• Monitor and report on yard operations, including productivity metrics, inventory levels, and safety compliance.
• Assist in the implementation of new procedures and initiatives to enhance efficiency and productivity within the yard.
• Maintain a positive and collaborative work environment, fostering teamwork and employee morale.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in project management or related field is a plus.
• Proven experience in a supervisory role, preferably in a manufacturing or construction environment.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor a team of general workers.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of inventory management principles and experience with stock control systems.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures related to yard operations.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications, such as MS Office suite.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: RM1,800.00 - RM2,500.00 per month
