The Finance Manager will play a critical role in overseeing the financial operations of the company. This position requires an in-depth understanding of financial management within the construction industry, including project costing, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. The Finance Manager will be responsible for ensuring financial stability and growth, managing financial risks, and providing strategic financial insights to support the company’s business objectives.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Playing a pivotal role in the company, you will be in charge of:

  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial models for construction projects.
  • Analyze financial performance and provide insights to the management team.
  • Monitor and control project costs to ensure profitability.
  • Conduct variance analysis and recommend corrective actions as needed.
  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and prepare audit reports.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and payable, ensuring timely collections and payments.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and manage working capital requirements.
  • Lead and mentor the finance team, ensuring continuous development and performance improvement.
  • Collaborate with project managers, procurement, and other departments to support financial planning and project execution.
  • Manage employee benefits and performance evaluation system, ensuring fair and effective incentive measures.
  • Handle employee relations, address employee issues and disputes, and maintain a positive employee relationship atmosphere.
  • Ensure the company's compliance with relevant labor laws, regulations, and policies.

REQUIREMENTS

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional qualification such as CIMA, ACCA, or CPA is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, preferably within the construction or property development industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction accounting practices, including job costing and progress billing.
  • Candidates with working experience in building materials, construction or developers are preferred
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia as well as Mandarin
  • Attention to detail, with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
