Manager/Senior Manager, Corporate Finance

Description of the Role

  • Monitoring and analysis of macro-economic, industry, technology and company­-specific trends/events to deliver periodic reports with actionable insights to senior management, leveraging intimate working knowledge of the sector.
  • Monitor, benchmark, evaluate and periodically report on investee company financial and operational performance, key shareholder­-level issues and ascertain risks and opportunities.
  • Create and update financial and valuation models for investee companies and peer group driving fundamental valuation signals based on a common, long-term valuation methodology.
  • Maintain relationships with key stakeholders within the group, senior management in investee companies and business partners.
  • Conduct preliminary assessment on potential investment opportunities within the focus areas, mainly telecommunications, media, technology, oil and gas and real-estate as and when it arises.
  • Project management of cross functional teams (including advisers) in any new investment, M&A or divestment process, including investment appraisal, due diligence and documentation.
  • Prepare regular investment committee and board papers relating to investee companies, new investment opportunities and/or industry sector updates.

Desired skills/ Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree and/or Master’s Degree from a reputable university in Finance/Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Business Studies/Administration/Management, Mathematics or relevant discipline.
  • Candidates with CFA and/or MBA are highly desired.
  • 5-10 years of experience in a relevant functional discipline (corporate finance, M&A advisory, ECM, private equity, asset management, equity analysis/ research) gained within investment banks, private equity funds, asset management firms (long-only equity funds, hedge funds, pension funds, sovereign wealth funds), management consulting firms or similar roles within large corporates.
  • Ideally possess strong working knowledge of the Telecoms Media & Technology (TMT) sector. Familiarity with additional sectors such as Real-estate, Oil & Gas, Energy & Natural Resources, Financial Institutions, Consumer Retail, Healthcare would be an advantage.
  • Well-developed valuation, financial analysis and modeling skills and understanding of business fundamentals; strategy, operating models, key functions and macroeconomics.
  • Numerate with strong analytical thinking and excellent structured problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate clearly and with credibility at a senior level internally within the organization as well as with external parties.
