Project & Maintenance HOD

The Head of Projects and Maintenance (HOD) plays a crucial role in the bakery industry, overseeing and managing all aspects of project planning, execution, and maintenance activities within the bakery, including retail chain outlets, hostels, outlet/site renovations, upgrades, and closure construction. This role involves strategic planning, resource allocation, team management, and ensuring the effective execution of projects and maintenance initiatives to support the bakery's operations and objectives. Need to travel to other outlet or factory too. Mostly will travel to glenmarie factory.

Job Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Management:

  • Develop and implement project management strategies specific to bakery production, retail chain outlet expansion, hostel facilities, new outlet/site renovations, upgrades, and closure construction, and group properties. This includes defining project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams, ensuring successful planning, execution, and completion of projects related to process improvement, retail outlet expansion, hostel facilities, outlet renovations, upgrades, closures and group properties.
  • Identify and manage project risks and issues, taking proactive measures to address challenges.

Maintenance Management:

  • Establish and oversee maintenance processes for bakery equipment, ovens, refrigeration units, as well as maintenance of retail chain outlet properties, hostel facilities, factories, offices, etc.
  • Coordinate with maintenance staff and external vendors to ensure efficient and timely maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of bakery equipment, retail outlets, hostels, outlet properties, factories, offices, etc.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and budgets.

Strategic Planning:

Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute a strategic plan for the projects and maintenance department, focusing on quality improvement and identify opportunities for process improvements, and cost-saving initiatives.

Team Leadership:

  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of technicians and/or maintenance staff.
  • Foster a positive work environment, providing coaching and mentoring to team members within the diverse operational areas.
  • Monitor team performance and conduct performance evaluations.

Budget Management:

  • Develop and manage budgets for projects and maintenance activities across bakery production, retail outlet maintenance, hostel facilities, outlet renovations, upgrades, and closures, factories, offices, etc ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial targets.
  • Monitor expenditures and report on budget variances.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure strict compliance with bakery industry regulations, food safety standards, and safety guidelines for production and maintenance activities. Also, oversee compliance in retail outlets, hostels, factories, offices and construction projects.
  • Promote a culture of safety and hygiene within the bakery, retail chain outlets, hostels, factories and offices and construction activities.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Prepare monthly reports on project and maintenance progress, and key performance indicators across all areas, including outlet/site renovations, upgrades, and closures.
  • Maintain accurate project and maintenance documentation for regulatory compliance

Job Requirements:

· Bachelor's degree or higher in industrial engineering or related field.

· Minimum 2 years of experience in engineering or related field environment.

· Excellent problem-solving and teamwork skills, able to effectively manage production processes and respond to emergencies.

· Strong communication skills, able to communicate effectively with employees at different levels and coordinate work between departments.

· Leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate team members to achieve production goals.

Pay: RM6,000.00 - RM10,000.00 per month
