Job description

HNF Campus Kitchen (HNFC) is seeking a qualified Head Chef to join our kitchen in International School Canteen

Our philosophy is focused on creating food that is alive with enjoyable flavors.

Essential Functions: Individuals who meet the following expectations will be contacted for an interview:

  • Responsible for all Kitchen Production; including daily meals services and catering.
  • Ability to cook a wide range of foods in large batch quantities: International Asian & Western cooking.
  • Lead the Atmosphere: Insure the staff are working efficiently, cleanly, organized and professional.
  • Training: In charge of all staff training, to insure proper procedures for handling food and serving customers.
  • Purchasing: Manage all food and supply orders following approved vendor list and purchasing policy.
  • Food Costs: Monitor kitchen to ensure proper use of product and inventory control while keeping waste to a minimum.
  • Labor management: Hire staff, complete annual reviews, promote low-turnover and keep labor under 25%
  • Communication: Must be proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia, computer literate and respond to all emails within 24 business hours.
  • Safety & Security: Maintain a safe work environment for all staff and guests.
  • Self-motivated and can work with the team and without direct supervision.
  • Enjoy working around children: You're cooking for and catering to students, faculty, staff and parents

  • Proficiency in preparing high-quality food consistently on a daily basis.
  • Demonstrated accountability for the kitchen operations, striving to exceed the community's expectations.
  • Ability to conduct weekly meetings with Client leadership, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
  • Strong innovation and creativity in developing menu ideas, specials and catering offerings.
  • Commitment to ensuring compliance with all food safety, hygiene and HSE requirements.
  • Proven ability to motivate and manage kitchen staff effectively.
  • Willingness to take direction and follow through on requested actions with precision and attention to detail.
