1. Production Scheduling and Planning Create and Manage Production Schedules: Develop daily, weekly, monthly or monthly production schedules based on customer order, demand forecast and production capacity. Coordinate Production Flow: Ensure that production activities are properly sequenced and that resources, including machines and labor are effectively allocated. Adjust Plans as Needed: Modify production schedules to accommadate changes demand, resource availability or unexpected distruptions. 2. Capacity Planning Assess Manufacturing Capacity: Analyze the available workforce, equipment and other resources to determine productions capacity and plan accordingly. Optimize Resource Utilization: Ensure that machines, labor and materials are used efficiently to maximise productivity and minimize waste or downtime. 3. Inventory and Materials Management Manage Inventory Levels: Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress and finished good to ensure sufficient stock without overstocking. Minimize Stockouts and Overages: Ensure the right amount of materials is available at that right time to avoid delays or excess inventory. 4. Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams Liaise with Production Teams: Communicate with production supervisors and team leaders to ensure schedules are realistic and that production target can be met. Coordinate with logistics: Work with the logistics team to allign production output with shipping schedules, ensuring on-time delivery to customers. Collaboration with Quality Control: Coordinate with quality assurance teams to ensure production process meet quality standards, minimizing defects and rework. 5. Demand Forecasting and Order Management Analyze Demand Forecast: Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to gather demand forecasts and incorporate them into the production schedule. Order Prioritization: Prioritize production orders based on factos such as customer demand, lead times and inventory levels to meet deadlines and optimize resource use. 6. Monitoring and Reporting Track Production Progress: Monitor production activities to ensure schedules are followed, deadlines are met and quality standards are maintained.
