Head, Regional Wealth Management (RWM) Operations

The Head of RWM Operations supports capacity building (both client and employees facing) that will lead to above market business growth rates, increasing overall efficiency through effective digitization, automation, mobilization, resourcing, governance and execution of business strategic plans/initiatives. The role requires a good understanding of the wealth management business, technology/digital strategies applicable to the sector and operational excellence. The role through the timely delivery of the agreed strategic plans will be able to show effectiveness of own and team work through the increase of customer base and increase in funds under management from both existing and new clients. This role will play a critical resource to the Managing Director, RWM.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Functional (job responsibilities)

• Responsible to ensure effective internal and external support of the operations and service delivery by managing relevant support teams and involvement on projects
• Optimizing resources & implementing new task methodologies, processes, tools to continuously improve service effectiveness & efficiencies for concrete control and timely deliverable sustaining an excellent operational functionality and bank’s ultimate bottom line
• The identification, planning and execution of new, refurbished and relocated Priority Banking centres along with the corresponding teams
• To propose and manage projects that deliver new capabilities to provide wealth management and banking services by way of technological solutions, team structures and customer profiles
• Review and keep relevant, the processes of products and services delivery to customers. Manage, update and put in place checks and balances to minimize and manage risk in existing processes
• To manage and resolve customer feedback and complaints

Managerial (team/group responsibilities)

• Manage and lead a team that is aligned to the business strategic priorities and work collaboratively with colleagues throughout the franchise
• Team leadership and management of team members, including effective team performance, talent management and succession planning

Organizational (organizational responsibilities) including Strategic Cost Management and Financial Goals

• Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of RWM strategic priorities
• Demonstrate effective leadership and teamwork to ensure that the needs of external stakeholders (e.g. customers, business partners, regulators, etc.) are understood and satisfied efficiently

Jobholder Requirements

• Malaysian citizen

Education/Qualification

• Degree holder, including a proven good track record of managing a team or have implemented successful business strategies
• A postgraduate tertiary or a professional certification is a plus.

Experience

• Minimum 10 years of working experience in the Banking/Financial industry with minimum 5 years in a managerial position, preferably in Wealth Management/Branch Banking, with extensive experience in operations, regulatory compliance, and/or IT
• Management of medium to large teams
