What is the role about?

  • Conducting various tests on food samples to assess their chemical composition and overall quality using analytical instruments and techniques to determine factors such as moisture content, pH level, fat content, protein content, and the presence of contaminants.
  • Involving in method developing and validating to ensure accurate and reliable results., researching and implementing appropriate methodologies, optimising protocols, and documenting procedures for future reference.
  • Ensuring the in-coming raw materials’ qualities meet the specifications before release to production usage and finished goods release comply with food safety and quality requirement. Consult the superior for any detection of non-conformance.
  • Troubleshooting and problem solving when test results deviate from established norms or when issues arise during the testing process, identifying the cause of the problem i.e. potential sources of error, retesting samples, and collaborating with other departments to resolve the issue and implementing corrective actions.
  • Analyzing data and reporting; analyzing test results and preparing comprehensive report, accurately interpret and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders, such as production managers, quality assurance teams and regulatory authorities. Attention to details and the ability to clearly present information are vital skills in this aspect of the role.
  • Compliance and safety: Adhering to laboratory safety protocols, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous substances, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Stay updated on relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Contributing to define and follow up on the quality KPIs.
  • Participating in proficiency test programme.
  • Supervising all the quality control activities in accordance to HACCP, GMP, pre-requisite, halal, ISO, FSSC22000, ISO 17025 and customer requirements.
  • Conducting Internal Quality Audit, laboratory system audit, hygiene audit, etc.
  • Raising, monitoring and following up on the Non-conformances Request (NCR) until issues resolved.
  • Preparing Finished goods chemical analysis weekly report, Microbiological weekly report and Lab Expenditure/ Inventory
  • Contributing to defince and following up on quality KPIs.
  • Reporting food safety and quality related issues to superior.
  • Carrying out other duties as assigned by the superior.

Are you the one?

  • Bachelors Degree in Microbiology, Food Science/ Technology or similar.
  • 3 to 5 years experience in food industry (Quality Control) and or FMCG business.
  • Possess Food Analyst Certificate registered with Ministry of Health Malaysia.
  • Experience in ISO17025 certified laboratory testing and instrumentation.
  • Good understanding of QA/QC disciplines in food processing plant and or FMCG manufacturing business, GMP, HACCP, ISO standards.
  • Knowledge in SAP are advantageous.
