We are looking for a System & Server Engineer to join our team in Cyberjaya.

As a System & Server Engineer, you will be responsible for the management, maintenance, and optimization of our client’s server infrastructure. This includes both physical and virtual servers, as well as cloud-based environments.

You will ensure high availability, security, and optimal performance of all server systems while proactively managing and troubleshooting server issues. Additionally, you will work closely with IT and network teams to deliver reliable and scalable infrastructure solutions that support the organization’s goals.

Responsibilities

Server Management

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of physical, virtual, and cloud-based servers (Windows/Linux).
  • Able to troubleshoot Citrix related incidents.
  • Ensure high availability, performance tuning, and security of server environments.

Monitoring and Security:

  • Monitor server health, performance, and security using appropriate tools.
  • Implement security protocols and patches, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Backup and Disaster Recovery:

  • Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Test recovery plans to ensure minimal downtime during system outages. Automation and Optimization:
  • Implement scripts and automation tools to streamline server administration and improve efficiency.
  • Optimize resource utilization for cost-effective server management.

Incident Resolution:

  • Provide Level 2 support for server/backup -related incidents.
  • Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues and take preventative measures.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate documentation of server configurations, processes, and changes.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on server performance, capacity, and potential improvements.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of hand-on experience in a system/server engineering focusing on server virtualization (VMware & Hyper-V).
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux server environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Citrix Technology
  • Proficient in networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP) and security best practices.
  • Experience with backup (Commvault/Veeam/Metallic) and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Scripting skills in PowerShell, or similar for task automation.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and performance management tools.
  • Skills with Endpoint/Intune will be an added advantage
  • Familiar with Incident/Request/Change/Problem Management
