Overview:

We are seeking an energetic and experienced Recreation Manager for our Five Star Resort. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing recreational activities and programs within a designated facility in a Resort. This role requires a strong understanding of various fitness and wellness activities, including yoga, Tabata, Zumba, gym operations, and water sports such as kayaking. The Recreation Manager will create and manage a diverse range of programs to cater to the interests and preferences of resort guests, ensuring a memorable and enjoyable experience during their stay.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive and diverse range of recreational programs, including yoga classes, Tabata workouts, Zumba sessions, gym activities, and water sports.
  • Collaborate with the resort management team to align programs with guest demographics and preferences.
  • Stay updated on current fitness and wellness trends to introduce innovative activities and programs.
  • Interact with guests to understand their interests, preferences, and expectations regarding recreational activities.
  • Coordinate and schedule programs to ensure a varied and appealing daily activity calendar for guests.
  • Promote and market recreational programs to maximize guest participation and satisfaction
  • Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of recreational facilities, ensuring they are clean, safe, and well-equipped.
  • Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to ensure staff members are knowledgeable and proficient in conducting activities.
  • Requirement:

  • Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management, Sports Science, Physical Education, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in yoga, Tabata, Zumba, gym operations, and water sports such as kayaking.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing recreational programs and staff in a hospitality or resort environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with guests and collaborate with team members.
  • Flexibility in working hours, including weekends and holidays, to meet the needs of guests and the resort operation.
  • Proficiency in English & Bahasa Malaysia; knowledge of additional languages (Chinese) is a plus.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
  • Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • May be required to work in outdoor settings.
  • Working Conditions:
  • While most tasks will be performed indoors, some duties may require outdoor work in varying weather conditions. The Recreation Manager may be required to work weekends, and holidays based on the resort's operational needs.
