POSITION SUMMARY
To assist in the effective operation and management of the Early Intervention Programme, through effective teaching and development of the visually impaired children and providing families with training and guidance for their visually impaired children.

DETAILS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- To plan and organize quality Individual Education Plans (IEP) for visually impaired children from 0 to 6 years of age.
- To provide home-based training and guidance to visually impaired children and their families (parents/guardians).
- To review, assess, evaluate and modify (if necessary) the IEP to suit the current capacity and needs for the EIP children's continuous growth and development.
- To monitor the visually impaired child’s development through regular home visits and training.
- To visit and provide relevant services to the visually impaired children requiring special attention.
- To work closely with other coordinators, related professionals and organizations to understand and build on the EIP child’s strengths.
- To assist in the planning and implementation of public interaction for the purpose of educating the public on the needs and importance of EIP for visually impaired children.
- To maintain and update reports, records and files of the visually impaired children at all times.
- To submit monthly reports to the Early Intervention Coordinator (Team Lead) to keep track of the child's development progress.
- To serve and assist in all activities pertaining to the development of the visually impaired child and the families organised by the Family Support Network or other agencies.
- To assist in liaising with other Government organisations and non-government organisations for referral of cases that need early intervention and attention.
- To provide counseling services to the family members (parents/guardians) whenever necessary.
- The job functions are not limited or restricted to those stated above. Other duties/tasks may be assigned from time to time by the superiors and the management.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum Diploma academic qualification.
- Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and English language.
- Good computing and writing skills is required.
- Possess valid driving license (manual gear transmission - D license) and willing to travel long distance within the Northern Region.
- Willing to be based at Penang.
