Conference And Event Producer

An international publishing and events company is seeking a seek a conference, forum and training producer to develop and produce events of various sizes for the Islamic, sustainable and responsible financial services industry. The role will report directly to senior management, will be based in Kuala Lumpur and may involve overseas travel.

Key tasks and responsibilities are as follows:

• Topic research and program development.
• Speaker research, identification and acquisition.
• Liaison with industry bodies, associations and media outlets.
• Assistance with the development of event copy for direct marketing and digital channels.
• Pre-event preparation, including development of session content and running order.
• Administrative and logistical support for smaller training events.

You will join a dynamic team and will be guided by experienced managers. You will have access to a unique database of contacts and reference materials, including our own publications.

Key traits we require include independence, self-discipline, persistence and the ability to solve problems, multitask and work to deadlines. You should be attentive to detail and willing to learn. You should be entrepreneurial and be able to identify and develop new markets and opportunities.

You must be comfortable speaking English, and a fundamental part of the job will be writing in English. This includes drafting programs, proposals and copy, and communicating with external parties in English. Other languages, including Arabic or French, would be an advantage.

You must be a people person, and your success will be almost entirely dependent on your ability to form relationships.

You should be comfortable with technology. You will be able to identify and advise on how technology can be applied to all aspects of the events business in order to enhance user experience and increase efficiency.

Experience of finance, or finance events, would be useful but is not essential. You will be provided with resources and guidance to develop your industry knowledge.

Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least a Diploma/bachelor’s degree/Post Graduate Degree in related field.
• At least 2-3 years of working experience in a related field.
• Resourceful and able to find solutions.
• Creative mindset with the ability to generate innovative event ideas.
• Willing to work under pressure with minimum supervision.
• Mature, able to multitask with a positive work attitude and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Literate and proficient in MS Word and MS Excel.
• Excellent written and spoken English, with Bahasa Melaya as an advantage.
• Able to adhere to strict deadlines.
