Area Manager

At The Food Purveyor, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional products and services to our customers. We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven Area Manager to join our team and lead our operations across Klang Valley for our brands Pasaraya OTK, Village Grocer, Ben’s Independent Grocer, Bangsar Fine Foods.

Role Overview:
As an Area Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing multiple locations within your assigned area, ensuring that each site meets our high standards of quality, performance, and customer satisfaction. You will drive sales growth, optimize operational efficiency, and cultivate a positive team culture.

Core functions includes managing the P&L of area portfolios and monitoring day-to-day sales and operational efficiency of existing stores, as well as setting up operations for new stores; focus on store manpower planning, business elements planning, product ranges planning and maintenance, inventory level and accuracy, product quality and shrinkage control, safety compliance, loss prevention control, hiring, development, and other related business matters.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and support a team of store managers to achieve sales targets and operational goals.
• Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance customer engagement and service quality.
• Conduct regular site visits to ensure compliance with company standards and identify areas for improvement.
• Analyze performance metrics and market trends to inform decision-making and drive growth.
• Foster a collaborative and motivated work environment through effective coaching and mentoring.
• Manage budgets and ensure efficient resource allocation across all locations.
• Build strong relationships with team members, customers, and stakeholders.

Qualifications:
• Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Retail Management or related field.
• Proven experience as a Senior Store Manager or Area Manager or in a similar leadership role, preferably in premium supermarket retailer.
• Strong understanding of retail or operational management.
• Excellent numerical/analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to travel frequently within the assigned area.
