Network Security Engineer (Contract)

Job description :

The successful Firewall Security Engineer will work within a small team focused on the migration of our applications to the cloud landing zone. Implementing Application Security Policy and Micro-Segmentation security using NSX-T as part of Zero Trust Architecture. Defining the process for applying FW policies. Validate these processes by conducting a proof of concept on apps migrated to the Cloud.

Key functions include:
• Supporting applications moves to the cloud and compartmentation of network segmentation and policies on Cloud and On-Prem.
• Provide FW Engineer consultation and support to the project team during the process:
o Define FW policies for core services.
o Apply FW policies to core services.
o Define FW policies for applications.
o Apply FW policies to applications.
• Support hyper care period.
• Support handover of FW policy management structures to app teams.

Qualifications
Must have requirements (skills / experiences) for the role:
• 3 yrs experience in IT Firewall Operations
• Bachelor’s degree in computers science/Information Technology or relevant experience.
• Technical expertise installing and configuring Network Security environments and tools (Fortinet, UTM Technologies, NSX-T DFW) - (Azure NSG Firewall, VPN Gateways)
• Experience of working as part of a global team
• Technical networking ability to troubleshoot Network Security environments , Tools, etc.
• Teamwork: establish and maintain effective and appropriate working relationships with those contacted during the workday
• Experience with working as part of a Global 24*7 support model
• Strong customer service skills. Good temperament, ability to handle stressful situations, and provide customer-facing support in a professional manner.

Preferred (skills / experiences) for the role:
• Proficiency in Fortinet and zScaler
• Familiarity with IT governance standards and compliance including ITIL and SOC
• Strong analytical skills, able to use complex data to find opportunities, recognize problems and draw logical conclusions.
• Ability to produce and present technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel
