Job Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans for the management and expansion of oil palm plantations, aligning with company goals and objectives.
- Oversee the entire plantation operations, including land preparation, planting, fertilisation, pest control, and harvesting to maximise yield and quality.
- Lead and mentor plantation management teams and staff, promoting a culture of high performance, collaboration, and professional development.
- Drive the implementation of sustainable farming practices, including environmental management, social responsibility, and compliance with industry standards.
- Develop and manage the plantation budget, monitor financial performance, and implement cost control measures to achieve financial targets.
- Analyse and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to plantation productivity, efficiency, and sustainability, providing actionable insights for continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and standards, including health and safety, environmental regulations, and labour laws.
- Maintain effective communication with senior management, external stakeholders, and regulatory bodies, addressing any issues or concerns promptly and professionally.
- Identify and address operational challenges and opportunities, implementing solutions to optimise plantation performance and mitigate risks.
- Stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices, incorporating innovative approaches to enhance plantation operations.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Plantation Management, Agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in leading and managing oil palm operations.
- Strong understanding of sustainable agricultural and environmental best practices.
- Excellent financial skills including budgeting, cost control and financial analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced skills in Excel.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyse complex data and develop effective solutions.
- Familiar with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Based in Sibu and willing to travel to oil palm estates around Sarawak.
