The role:

We are looking for a highly self-motivated and committed English and Chinese speaking individual to join our Malaysia office as a Sales Consultant. The Sales Consultant is to be responsible for and cover our business and services within Higher Education and school institutions in Malaysia. The primary tasks of this position are to meet the assigned revenue and growth goals in the Malaysia marketplace; develop and manage opportunities/pipelines. The post holder must possess the ability to rapidly identify and act on prospects’ needs and issues.

Responsibilities:

• Cover faculty, department chairs, deans, school admin, to find/profile textbook adoption requirements. This includes print, eBooks and digital courseware.
• Able to match print or digital courseware requirements, sample them and close/confirm adoption for the local bookseller to order.
• Coordinate the adoptions with the local bookseller for order taking; and promote B2C online store to students in and outside the classroom.
• Creating marketing activities to increase sell through.
• Synchronize sampling and/or promotion, coordinate adoptions to increase volume orders of local bookseller.
• Update the faculty on the upcoming new editions and coordinate with the local bookseller for inventory management.
• Cover Libraries and establish a way to supply library requirements for print and electronic.
• Develop and manage key accounts and prospects as required.
• Sales lead follow up.
• Participate in industry events.
• Understand the competitors in market.
• Communicate product information to customers and agents.
• Come up with opportunities in respective accounts covered to increase business.
• Attend regular in-house training events.
• Maintain good product information resources.
• Regularly demonstrate products.
• Coordinate with customer support and service as required.

Skills & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree (or long-standing industry experience).
• 2+ years consultative selling experience
• Fresh graduates with a strong desire to explore sales-related roles are welcome
• Proven track record in effectively developing sales plan and hitting target.
• Proficient in both English and Chinese communication (verbal and written).
• Customer focused.
• Characterized by a desire to drive growth.
• Must be highly motivated, organized, work independently and possess strong selling skills.
• Outstanding presentation skills.
• Experience with MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint etc).
• It is desired although not essential to have Higher Education and/or Library market experience/understanding.
