Position Summary:
Manage Logistics operations for the site covering import/export, transportation, trade and customs compliance activities. Lead a team of personnel to deliver the right products to the right place, at the right time, with the right quality and in the most cost-effective way.
What You Will Do:
- Responsible for the site logistics, inbound and outbound operations for all material movements, including but not limited to raw materials, WIP, FG, machineries etc.to meet manufacturing and customer requirements.
- Deliver solutions to operational, imports / exports or customer issues. Handles freight loss and damage claims where applicable.
- Work closely with Global Logistics team on RFQ process and responsible for site implementation.
- Develops SOP, sets KPI to monitor performance such as compliance with company/regulatory requirements, quality, responsiveness, on time delivery and cost.
- Ensure metrics, reports, and process documentation is available and followed.
- Logistics service provider (LSP) relationship and performance management, conducts monthly review to drive continuous process improvements.
- Establish freight spend budget and monitor actual vs plan performance. Report monthly spend and provide solid analysis on each cost element.
- Establish/sustain effective and efficient freight audit process/tool to ensure LSPs are paid the right amount and on time.
- Facilitates and coordinates the attainment of various customs licenses such as sub-con license, LMW license, bank guarantee for Malaysian Customs and their periodic renewal according to business needs.
- Drive operational excellence and systematic improvement in logistics processes through continuous improvement activities.
- Supports full compliance of related SOX and QMS requirements.
- Ensure effective implementation and compliance of Lumileds Supply Chain Security (SCS) policies and procedures.
- Complies with environment, security, health and safety requirements.
- Hire develops and coaches' subordinates to ensure the efficient operation of the functions.
What You Will Bring (Required Qualifications):
- Familiar with various MY customs zones regulation and goods movement requirements, including FIZ, LMW, Bonded warehouse, PCA.
- Familiar with Trade Compliance / Export Control Regulation and Supply Chain Security.
- HTS codes classification, ECCN codes, LOC, Incoterms, 3rd party & 4th party trade
- Dangerous goods handling requirement.
- Forwarder relationship and performance management.
- Freight spends budget and optimization.
- Local and international goods movement using air, parcel, ocean and truck mode of transport.
- ERP system knowledge (preferably SAP); PC based applications and Microsoft tools.
- Good supply chain acumen and networking in the Logistics industry
- Able to work independently and good communication skills.
- Team player and good interpersonal skills.
- Analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
- 8 years of relevant experience with min 2-3 years in supervisory role.
