Agronomist

FarmByte Sdn Bhd, a leading technological agrobusiness solution company, is expanding and actively looking for talents that could serve as an Agronomist to be based in Johor Darul Takzim. The Job Description for this position are as below;

• Develop, implement, and monitor agronomic plans to optimize plant growth and productivity.
• Advise management on best practices for soil management, fertilization, pest control, irrigation, and other aspects of crop production.

- Provide technical assistant to farm workers on proper use of pesticides, fertilizers, and other agricultural inputs.

- Collect and analyze data on soil health, fertigation system, pest and disease incidence, and other metrics to track the effectiveness of management practices and identify opportunities for improvement.

- Collect, analyze, and monitor crop health and diagnose and treat plant disease and pests.

- Conduct soil and crop analyses to assess nutrient levels, identify deficiencies, and recommend appropriate fertilizers and other soil amendments to improve plant health.

• Collaborte with farm advisors/consultants to develop and implement sustainable agricultural practices that protect the environment and water resources while maintaning high crop yields.
• Coordinate with external parties i.e. MARDI, UPM, and other parties, and provides them with necessary assistance for research purposes.
• Conduct training to educate staff and workers about sustainable agricultural practices.
• Prepare reports, papers, and other documents to communicate findings and recommendations to management assistance for decision making.

- Performs related work and any ad-hoc duties as directed by Head of Division.

• Ensuring good agronomic practices implemented by Kulim Pineapple Farm Sdn Bhd to maximize yield production and company profit with the optimum cost of production.
• Oversee ESG intiative inclusive of compliance and certification audit i.e myGap and GlobalGAP.
• Visiting and monitoring Sarawak Pineapple Farm.
