IT MANAGER

JOB DESCRIPTION 1. Plan, organize and lead the operation of Information Technology department. 2. Develop and implement policies and procedures of computer systems operation and development. 3. Meet with departments to discuss system requirements, specification, costs, and timelines. 4. Control the computer system budgets and expenditures. 5. Supervises and ensures IT functions and activities are in place. 6. Ensures subordinates implement procedures and instructions as defined. 7. To educate and develop subordinates. 8. Manages and controls the existing IT hardware and software system implementations and information technology. 9. Performs IT controlled equipment purchase arrangement; provides information and recommendations for computer purchase. 10. Servers’ administration, server problem handling, user account management. 11. Management and maintenance of networks. 12. Internet and intranet management. 13. Software control and management, including license control and upgrading. 14. Provides sufficient training to users of systems and to provide guidance and support to users for continuous use of the systems. 15. Performs and ensures completed and updated documentation on systems implemented. 16. Provides weekly progress status reports. 17. Analyze, plan, implement and manage IT projects. 18. Support other departments as and when required. 19. To share and provide the necessary IT information for other facilities. 20. To evaluate IT products and make recommendations to management. 21. Assign passwords for all types of applications. 22. Plan and control for department budget. 23. Ensures department operation procedures meet the audit requirements. 24. Authorized to conduct and evaluate subordinates’ performance appraisal. 25. Authorized to approve departments’ Work Instruction. 26. To issue, confirm, or approve reports and documentation. 27. Authorized to approve as per JKEM Standard of Decision Making and Approval Authority Guidelines. 28. To perform additional responsibilities as and when instructed by Division Head. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION 1. Candidate must possess Diploma or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information System, or equivalent. REQUIREMENTS 1. Minimum 3 - 5 years of solid experience in Windows server/network administration, computer networking and project implementation. 2. Candidates specializing in multinational corporation (MNC) environment will be prioritized. 3. Good command of written and spoken English. 4. Able to troubleshoot software and hardware applications. 5. Proficient and familiar with server operating systems (Windows, Linux), MRP system, networking protocols, server administration, storage systems, cloud computing and security principles. 6. Wide exposure to internet and web technologies. 7. A solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices. 8. Applicants must be Malaysian citizen and willing to work in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.
