Animal Care and Supervision:

  • Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, cleaning cages/kennels, and ensuring a safe environment.

  • Check animals for external parasites (fleas, ticks) and report findings to the veterinary team.
  • Keep the animals clean and tidy, especially during their stay at the clinic or before/after medical treatments.

Cleaning and Sanitation:

  • Maintain cleanliness in animal housing areas, including regular disinfection of cages, kennels, and litter boxes.
  • Clean and sanitize feeding dishes, bedding, and other equipment used by the animals.
  • Ensure that all areas of the clinic, including treatment rooms, waiting areas, and examination rooms, are clean and free of debris or hazards.

Assisting with Veterinary Procedures:

  • Help in restraining animals during medical exams, vaccinations, or minor procedures under the supervision of the veterinary team.
  • Prepare and organize necessary materials for treatments, such as bandages or syringes.

Client Interaction and Support:

  • Assist with admitting and discharging pets for grooming or boarding services.
  • Help clients by safely bringing their pets in and out of the clinic, especially for larger animals or those with mobility issues.

Inventory Management and Supply Restocking:

  • Monitor and restock pet care supplies such as food, bedding, grooming tools, and cleaning products.

Emergency Response:

  • Assist the veterinary team during emergency situations by calming and restraining animals, providing first aid under supervision, or preparing necessary equipment.
  • Respond promptly to any safety concerns related to animals or the environment to prevent accidents or injuries.

General Administrative Support:

  • Support the reception area when needed, such as answering phones, scheduling grooming or boarding appointments, and greeting clients.

Continual Learning and Development:

  • Attend training sessions or workshops on animal care, grooming, or clinic procedures to improve skills and knowledge.
  • Stay updated on best practices for handling and caring for different types of pets, especially those with special needs.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school (SPM), diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Previous experience working with animals in a clinic, shelter, or grooming facility is preferred.
  • Ability to handle and care for animals safely and compassionately.
  • Basic knowledge of animal care, grooming techniques, and behavior.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially in maintaining hygiene and following safety protocols.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Physically able to lift and restrain animals, and stand for extended periods.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM1,500.00 - RM1,600.00 per month
