On behalf of our client, a global player in the metals industry, we are recruiting a

KEY ACCOUNT MANAGER

to act as the principal link (local sales initiatives) between customers and the Company for all the business divisions and product lines in order to ensure the growth and consolidation of the Company’s sales.

Location: Kuala Lumpur or any other city in Malaysia

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Grow long-lasting relationships with customers by identifying customer’s most important needs and the channels for the new projects development
  • Represent the Company with a comprehensive understanding of its offerings
  • Know customer budget, organization and hierarchy, selecting the most important contact for the activities that the Company wants to promote
  • Is informed about short, medium and long term customer plans, keeping in touch with Project Sales Teams
  • Gathers information on manufacturing output, performances and products of the Company and competitors’ plants
  • Investigates on competitors performances and quality
  • Promote the Company during customer meetings, promotions and negotiations
  • Collect competitors‘ information/monitoring competitors’ activities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree or above in Metallurgical/Mechanical Engineering or Business Administration/Management/Economics
  • Above 5 years related sales experience in steel industry or plant sales
  • Good knowledge of metallurgical equipment, process lines, good at reading and interpreting mechanical drawings
  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English and Malay; adequate skills in using MS Office
  • Ability to travel at least 20% of the time
