The College is seeking to employ a well-qualified, enthusiastic, committed and versatile Teaching Partner in the Preparatory and Pre-Preparatory School.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible to the Preparatory and Pre-Preparatory School and, on a dayto- day basis, the class teacher to carry out the following requirements:

  • The ability to uphold the traditions and promote the ethos of Marlborough College Malaysia.
  • Act as a classroom/department assistant in the Preparatory & Pre-Preparatory School and work with class teachers, groups of young children and individuals, as requested.
  • Provide assistance to young children in their learning in order for them to develop academically, creatively, socially and emotionally.
  • Assist with display work in and out of the classroom on behalf of the teachers.
  • Responsible for playtime duties and lunch duties for the group of young children assigned.
  • Remain professional in manners, and be aware of College policies and schemes of work with young children.
  • Assist the teachers with the school activities, functions and extracurricular activities as assigned.

Essential Skills and Abilities

In order to meet the high standards expected of a leading professional in our College, the successful candidate will understand and believe in the aims and ethos of a non-franchised British independent education in general and in Marlborough College Malaysia in particular.

In addition, we are seeking to employ a person with the following qualities, experience, skills and abilities:

  • Minimum a degree in a related teaching field.
  • Evidence of either being or having the potential to be an excellent teaching partner to the teachers.
  • Clear and effective communication skills in English and ability to communicate with young children.
  • Ability to be flexible, capacity to show initiative, to inspire and motivate young children.
  • The ability to look to other members of staff for support and advice on carrying out responsibilities.
  • The ability to create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment, in accordance with the lesson plans and assist with the display of pupils’ work.
  • To use strategies, in liaison with the teacher, to support pupils to achieve learning goals, and targets/appropriate to Preparatory and Pre-Preparatory School.
  • Candidate must have a positive mindset, be energetic and calm.
  • Candidate must have a genuine love of children and be flexible in their thinking.
  • Candidate must be an excellent team player.

Terms and Conditions

Normal working hours are 8.00am - 5.00pm, Monday to Friday during term-time, plus a maximum of 25 additional work days out of term-time.
