Job Description

Get To Know The Role

  • GrabInsure is looking for a self-motivation and experienced Assistant Manager, Commercial.
  • Your work involves driving business expansion, managing commercial contracts, and leading impactful marketing campaigns.
  • You should have experience in project management, demonstrate the ability to foster partnerships, and excel in a team-oriented environment.
  • You will report into the Commercial Manager, GrabInsure and hybrid working in Malaysia.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

  • You will co-develop and implement business expansion strategies in alignment with Regional Commercial and country's functional teams.
  • You will collaborate with the legal team to skillfully negotiate and administer commercial contracts, agency agreements, and master policies with external business partners.
  • You will craft comprehensive RFPs for new product plans, clearly promoting product criteria and evaluation benchmarks.
  • You will lead and implement engaging promotional campaigns to boost customer acquisition and engagement.
  • You will negotiate profitable deals with external partners to secure campaign funding.
  • You will use data-driven methodologies to make informed decisions, recognizing and managing trade-offs in different options, and looking for alignment in navigating these trade-offs.
  • You will oversee and implement plans to roll-out commercial projects within the team, promoting effective relationships with other departments.
  • You will build upon partnership and merchant relationships to guide the team towards innovative and robust business solutions.
  • You will influence team direction using sound logic or data insights while being receptive to feedback and self-improvement.

Qualifications

What Essentials Skills You Will Need

  • You have a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Insurance, or a related field.
  • You have certifications such as PIAM/LIAM's PCEIA or MTA's TBE, which would be a beneficial addition.
  • You have at least 4 years of professional experience in a commercial or business development role within the Insurance sector, preferably in an InsurTech environment.
  • You have a profound understanding of legal and compliance obligations tied to commercial contracts and underwriting agreements.
  • You have experience working collaboratively across different departments to guide strategic plans and business growth.
