This entry-level sales candidate will be a highly motivated, self-starter able to identify and develop new business prospects from multiple sources including inbound marketing leads, prospect lists, discovery and individual research. A dynamic personality with a drive to reach decision makers is essential! The Sales Development Representative will be responsible for generating leads for the existing sales team with extended duties including handling client support requests, prospecting, qualifying new sales leads, in addition to hunting whitespace for new logos.

General Job Duties

  • Maintain a self-starter attitude while creating outreach strategies for new lead generation methods
  • Support sales colleagues on outbound strategies and lead generating efforts
  • Be the first point of contact for new business prospects and determine the next steps for each prospect moving forward
  • Establish active communication and engagement with prospects to create new leads and sales openings
  • Collaborate with sales teams by creating innovative lead generation ideas
  • Become familiar with OPIS/Chemical Market Analytics /Coal Mining & Metals product portfolio
  • Assist sales colleagues by responding to client support requests
  • Utilize Salesforce & Netsuite to track all client interactions
  • Provide Salesforce & Netsuite reporting metrics to sales leaders
  • Providing clients, both internal and external, with timely assistance as required to help build and cultivate prospect relationships in order to move opportunities through the sales funnel.
  • Helping to drive leads and online traffic with web-based activities and programs in partnership with Marketing function.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemicals, Science or related technical field

Required Experience

  • Working knowledge of the Energy industry is a plus
  • Flawless communication skills, both written and oral; public speaking experience is a plus
  • Must be proficient in MS Excel, Word, Teams; experience using Sales Force and/or LinkedIn Sales Navigator or other similar prospecting applications is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and phone/email presence; must be able to deal with others in a pleasant manner and work under varying degrees of pressure and time constraints
  • Ability to work independently while still interacting within an integrated team structure
  • A team player that recognizes and contributes to the overall goals of the team
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Personal initiative and ability to prioritize and multi-task efficiently and effectively
  • Demonstrated success in uncover business potential through pre-sales preparation work and with good understanding of the client’s needs to progressing lead

TRAVEL: Limited travel unless occasionally for conferences / exhibitions but will not be more than 10-15% of the time when needed
