What You'll Do
As a legal counsel, your role will be pivotal in providing comprehensive legal support to the company.
- Serve as the primary legal advisor for the company and its subsidiaries, ensuring all legal aspects of operations are compliant with applicable laws and regulations.
- Take responsibility for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of contracts and agreements, including those related to business operations, partnerships, and vendor arrangements.
- Provide in-depth legal advice on regulatory matters, ensuring the company remains compliant with both local and international laws, industry-specific policies, and corporate governance requirements.
- Manage litigation matters by handling civil cases, summonses, consumer conflicts, and disputes, representing the company's interests in legal proceedings.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including business, finance, and operations, to draft, review, and finalize legal documents, contracts, and agreements in line with the company’s objectives.
- Offer expert guidance on trademark and intellectual property (IP) issues, ensuring the company’s valuable assets are properly protected, and proactively managing IP registrations and enforcement actions.
The ideal candidate for this position brings a wealth of experience in legal practice
- A Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) is required, with admission to the Bar preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of legal practice, ideally with experience in the F&B industry, handling contracts, compliance, and litigation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, drafting, and negotiation skills, with a deep understanding of corporate and commercial law. Capable of managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication abilities, with the capacity to interact effectively with stakeholders, demonstrating integrity and ethical behaviour
- Meticulous in reviewing legal documents and contracts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Proactive, adaptable, and a strong team player, capable of identifying legal risks and offering proactive solutions in a dynamic business environment.
