The Indoor Sales Executive is responsible for selling to customers from a fixed location, this includes selling by telephone but will also include web-conferencing and other selling methods. Focus on Tier 5 transactional sales and long-term fixed length contract sales. As an indoor Salesperson will have a personal Gross Profit budget and will be responsible for achieving that result through a high frequency interaction with an owned portfolio of small customers, prospects and suspects. The Indoor Sales Executive will cover Malaysia and Singapore.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the delivery of the sales budget from a defined and objective portfolio of accounts and prospects in a defined geographical territory.
  • Responsible for creating, developing and successfully exploiting customer relationships with the portfolio of customers to help the team, country, region and LOB reach their ambition.
  • Consulted and likewise consults their stakeholders and portfolio in the creation of their Sales Budget, Strategy and tactical plan to ensure that their targets are in line with the overall Country, Vertical, Product Region and LOB Strategies.
  • Be informed by their management and likewise will ensure that their team and stakeholders are informed of performance against that budget and strategy and what actions are necessary to mitigate any underperformance.
  • Develop a contact list for new business growth opportunities in assigned market or territory.
  • Completes daily telemarketing, cold calling and written communications to solicit new business opportunities.
  • Serve as a resource to solve customer needs surrounding their supply chain.
  • Communicate regularly with assigned customers including attendance at performance review meetings, process improvement or correction updates and new business initiatives.
  • Address all customer issues, concerns and requests.
  • Assists in and assures completion of account reviews.
  • Work directly with Operations, implementation and other groups necessary to achieve customer satisfaction and profitability goals.
  • At times there may be instances where an account managed in an Indoor Sales Manager’s portfolio trades up and begins to require face to face engagement and longer-term pricing validity, in these cases and as agreed by the NSM the ‘uptrader’ a handoff will be required to either a KAM or FSM as applicable.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 – 2 years of freight forwarding experience.
  • Proven record of business development success.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the industry.
  • Ability to work with various levels of management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, CRM applications.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers and co-workers.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities at once.
  • Consult freight forwarding blueprint for portfolio sizing.
