Job Summary:
The Jigshop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the jig and fixture fabrication shop. This includes managing the team, ensuring the efficient production of jigs and fixtures, maintaining high standards of quality, and collaborating with other departments such as production and engineering to meet project requirements. The role involves both technical knowledge and strong leadership to ensure timely delivery and continuous improvement in processes.

Key Result Areas:

Responsible for assist in smooth running of overall functions of jigs department.

Roles & Responsibility:

  • Plan and oversee technicians handling breakdown repairs in the body, paint, and assembly shops.
  • Perform general fabrication and machining tasks.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with breakdown repairs completed by fitters.
  • Implement KAIZEN, POKA YOKE, and 5S activities in the workplace.
  • Plan and update the monthly work schedule on the C & J board.
  • Attend QRQC meetings, OK VES, OFF VES viewings, and morning briefings.
  • Monitor TPM schedules, safety checklists, breakdown sheets, and requisition forms.
  • Supervise and maintain discipline among workers.
  • Ensure fitters wear safety gear during work hours.
  • Organize overtime notifications and submit daily absenteeism reports to the Admin Department.
  • Check and verify monthly stock items.
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance on workshop machinery.
  • Summarize breakdown records and requisition numbers.
  • Respond to breakdowns on the production line and attend QRQC meetings.
  • Complete jigs TPM and workplace safety check sheets.
  • To ensure the cleanliness of the work area and prevent pollution to environment.
  • To comply with environmental requirements.

Qualification:

  • Must have at least a Post Graduate Diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Tool & Die, Industrial, Automotive, or Mechatronic/ Electromechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience in a related field.
  • Experience working in an automotive factory (Body Shop, Paint Shop, or Assembly Shop).
  • Knowledge of car body coordinate systems (X, Y, Z).
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical and pneumatic drawings.
  • Experience with pneumatic systems, machining processes (milling, drilling, welding), and PLC (preferred).
  • Knowledge of jig/fixture design and fabrication processes.
  • Able to work effectively at all levels, proactive, and resourceful.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and ROMER ARM (a plus).

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position based in a workshop/manufacturing environment.
  • Some overtime may be required based on project deadlines.
  • Frequent use of machinery and equipment, requiring adherence to safety protocols.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fresh graduate

Pay: RM1,850.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
