Job Overview:

The Schlatter Leader is responsible for leading a team in the operation and maintenance of Schlatter welding machines, which are used in the production of industrial mesh, reinforcing steel, and similar products. This role involves ensuring the efficient operation of the equipment, meeting production targets, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality. The Schlatter Leader also plays a key role in troubleshooting, training staff, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of Schlatter operators and technicians. Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide guidance to ensure the team meets production goals and quality standards.
  • Operational Oversight: Oversee the operation of Schlatter welding machines, ensuring they are running efficiently and effectively. Monitor production output, making adjustments as needed to maintain optimal performance.
  • Maintenance Management: Coordinate and oversee preventive maintenance and repair activities for Schlatter machinery. Ensure that maintenance schedules are followed and that any issues are addressed promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshooting: Lead the troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues with Schlatter equipment. Work closely with maintenance and engineering teams to implement solutions and improvements.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all products produced by Schlatter machines meet company quality standards. Implement quality control measures and monitor the production process to identify and correct any deviations.
  • Safety Compliance: Promote and enforce safety standards and practices within the team. Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure that all team members are trained in safe operating procedures.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and development opportunities for team members, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge required to operate Schlatter machinery safely and effectively.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with other departments, such as production planning, quality control, and procurement, to ensure that production schedules are met and resources are used efficiently.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present reports on production performance, equipment status, and team performance to management. Provide recommendations for improvements and highlight any areas of concern.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Educational Background:
    • Technical diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Work Experience:
    • Extensive experience with Schlatter machinery, including operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
    • Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
    • In-depth knowledge of Schlatter welding machines and the production processes associated with them.
    • Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical issues.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
    • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate with team members and management.
