Chief Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to lead our engineering and maintenance department, ensuring that all facilities operate efficiently and safely while upholding the highest standards of service and hospitality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the operation and maintenance of all hotel systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical.
• Lead and manage the engineering team to ensure smooth day-to-day functioning of all facilities.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure the longevity and efficiency of hotel infrastructure.
• Ensure regular maintenance of hotel systems and equipment, recording all activities.
• Prepare procedure manuals for planned maintenance and repair of electrical installations, power generation, and distribution systems.
• Work closely with other departments, especially Housekeeping, F&B Division, and Banquet to ensure that all sound and lighting requirements for events are installed and dismantled as specified.
• Ensure compliance with IEE, CEI, and Jabatan Bekalan Elektrik (JBE) rules and regulations.
• Manage the hotel's energy consumption and initiate cost-saving measures.
• Coordinate with other departments to address technical and engineering issues promptly.
• Prepare and manage the engineering department’s budget, controlling expenses and costs.
• Plan and supervise renovation projects, repairs, and other technical improvements.
• Maintain high standards of guest satisfaction by ensuring all facilities and systems are in peak condition.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior engineering role, preferably within a luxury hotel or resort.
• Proven leadership skills and the ability to manage a diverse team.
• Strong knowledge of building management, energy management, and facility maintenance.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Proficiency in using maintenance management software.
