We are in search of a Financial Controller with a strong analytical background and experience in fundraising to join our team. The ideal candidate will oversee financial operations, spearhead data analysis initiatives, and play a crucial role in communicating financial performance to investors.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of financial data to provide insights into business performance and trends.
- Develop and maintain robust financial databases and systems to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Implement data analysis tools and techniques to streamline processes and improve decision-making.
2. Internal Control:
- Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews to assess the effectiveness of internal controls and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures to mitigate financial risks and enhance operational efficiency.
3. Budget Planning:
- Lead the annual budget planning process in collaboration with department heads and senior management.
- Develop comprehensive budgets and forecasts based on historical data, market trends, and strategic objectives.
- Monitor budget performance and variance analysis to identify deviations and recommend corrective actions as needed.
4. Fundraising Support:
- Assist in the development and execution of fundraising strategies to support company growth and expansion.
- Prepare financial projections, presentations, and other materials for investor meetings and fundraising events.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather relevant information and ensure alignment between financial projections and business plans.
5. Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements relevant to the kids' tech gadgets industry, including but not limited to Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and regulatory guidelines.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations affecting the industry and implement necessary changes to ensure compliance across all entities.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; professional certifications such as CPA or CFA are advantageous.
- Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in financial management, accounting, or related roles, preferably in the consumer electronics or kids' products industry.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
- Deep understanding of a matrix organization and ability to manage stakeholders from various functions, across countries and different levels of management.
- Experience in budget planning, internal control, and financial reporting, with an understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in the kids' tech product market.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in fundraising or capital raising activities is a plus, with a focus on articulating the value proposition of kids' tech products to investors.
- Must be willing to relocate to Johor Bahru.
