The Role

The Printing Manager is responsible for managing the printing department, supervises their team of printers to ensure the production team meets the job plan and customer brief, focusing on quality, yield, machine Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), productivity, and cycle time.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the printing team to achieve optimal quality standards, product yield, and meeting customer specifications.
  • Monitoring and improving machine OEE to reduce downtime and maximize output.
  • Driving productivity by optimizing printing processes, reducing waste, and minimizing bottlenecks.
  • Managing cycle time to ensure timely job completion, meeting production schedules and deadlines.
  • Collaborating with the Production Manager and the Chief Operating Officer (COO) to set and achieve key production metrics.
  • Implementing continuous improvements for process optimization and cost efficiency.
  • Ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and HACCP standards for quality, safety, and environmental management.
  • Providing leadership in staff training, development, and performance evaluation.
  • Coordinating between production, quality assurance, and maintenance teams.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Diploma or Degree in Printing Technology, Graphic Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of production or engineering experience in the printing industry, particularly in packaging.
  • Candidates who do not meet the educational qualifications requirement but possess extensive relevant working experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Proven experience in managing and optimizing OEE, quality control, and production cycle time.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing production teams.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and HACCP standards.
  • Familiarity with colour control certifications such as G7, GMI or ISO12647 PSO is preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in production planning is a plus.
  • Experience in Process Engineering is an advantage.
