What's the role?

Under the guidance of the A2 Head of Pricing (HoP), the Pricing Business Partner (PBP) is the first link to a market organization (MO) or business area and its senior stakeholders, incl. GM and Heads of Marketing, Finance and Sales. The PBP embraces the business partnering concept, thereby fostering a strong local relationship and pricing expertise transfer. The PBP is the local go-to-person for all pricing matters – except for day-to-day operational matters – proactively driving the creation, maintenance and execution of pricing initiatives, structures, and principles in line with a defined roadmap, global and regional standards and objectives and local needs and specificities. He/she also maintains a close exchange with the HoP and the rest of the team to ensure up-to-date practices and diligence.

What does the role involve?

The purpose of the role is to provide specialized services in the areas of Market Intelligence, Market Reach, Pricing, Territory Planning, and/or Analytics.
Scope: Seasoned professional who acts as subject matter expert - works on problems of diverse scope, receives little instruction, may lead projects, typically 5+ years of experience.

  • Liaise with key leaders to ensure results from pricing activities contribute to driving top line and bottom-line plans
  • Ensure that local pricing structures, initiatives and KPIs are reflective of global standards, regional ambitions (incl. pricing ambition) and local plans
  • Provide insights, analytics, and modelling to understand pricing drivers and mechanics to ensure value creation and right price positioning of product portfolio
  • Proactively identify roadblocks and drive change with sales management to maximize top and bottom-line impact from pricing initiatives
  • Create transparency and understanding about pricing among key stakeholders. Maintain standardized reporting/use of dashboards in order to enable performance tracking.
  • Conduct price engine optimizations and business reviews as per the local needs
  • Support INP pricing implementations as per market schedule
  • Adopt, align/locally customize, and roll out proactive training and experience exchange approach
  • Provide direction, instructions, and guidance to the Local Process Expert (LPE) in order to maintain and improve local pricing activities
  • Own annual plan for business areas and align it with local stakeholders
  • Embrace business partner concept and mentality
  • Spend time with markets physically incl. on field rides
  • Consciously collect feedback from key stakeholders (e.g. HoM, HoF, HoS/DMs) about business partnering approach realization

What you need is:
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Mathematics or equivalent
  • Min. five (5) years’ experience in marketing, management reporting, business planning or operations in sales and/or marketing function/organization
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills; organizational skills and process orientation
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder and interpersonal management skills
  • Business understanding and acumen; results-driven
