In principle, the Senior Associate, Treasury & Payment Operations is responsible for supporting the team Lead in providing effective and efficient services per the Bank's and regulator’s relevant rules and regulations. The main responsibility is to operate and ensure the smooth running of PayNet daily operations, execute RENTAS daily payment and settlement within the stipulated time, treasury back-office activities, cash flow reconciliation, ensure transaction figures are correctly posted to the GL system, identify process gaps and improvement opportunities with the aim to minimise loss/incident occurrence, maintaining a high standard of operational control/audit compliance and supporting all other functions in their daily work related to treasury and payment operations matters.

The role reports to the Treasury & Payment Operations Lead.

Accountabilities & Know-How

Provide strong support to function Lead in managing PayNet and RENTAS daily operations.

  • Dispute management, RPP monitoring and daily reconciliation activities for PayNet operations for retail payment of DuitNow, OBW and QR.
  • Manage PayNet monthly reporting activities.
  • Have sound RENTAS knowledge and hands-on experience handling daily payment and settlement operations.
  • Manage RENTAS daily settlement of RPP, SAN, ATM and etc.
  • Constant and effective communication with stakeholders i.e. Treasury and Finance to ensure RENTAS balance is at an adequate level to cater for daily settlement needs.
  • Ensure transactions are correctly posted to the GL system.
  • Create/Verify/Approver function for RENTAS daily payment and settlement messages.
  • Accurate and timely settlement of treasury deal verification/confirmation of Money Market, Fixed Income and other treasury products.
  • Liaising with counterparties to process treasury-related activities including handling any queries arising after deal execution.
  • Completeness of treasury deal confirmation matching.
  • Ensure no recurrence of internal, external and BNM audit findings.
  • Maintain up-to-date industry knowledge of current and future payment trends.
  • Assist Lead in drafting SOPs and guidelines in line with Risk and Compliance to ensure compliance with BNM regulations and guidelines.
  • Assist Lead in managing the overall function’s priorities and productivity to ensure targets/SLAs set are met.

Requirements & Education Background

  • Graduate and B.A Degree in Banking/Finance/Accountancy/Business Management or equivalent.
  • Experienced and passionate; have at least 3 years of hands-on experience working in PayNet operations function within the financial service industry.
  • Solid experience in working with PayNet Operations (dispute management & reconciliation).
  • Experience with RENTAS will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in Treasury operations will be an added advantage.
  • Good Communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Strong team player.
  • Ability to always stay alert and attentive.
  • Good knowledge of accounting entries related to treasury transactions.
  • You must also be comfortable in navigating through occasional situations of ambiguity or uncertainty.
