Job Purpose:

To assist the HSEM Manager in strategizing and consulting on the planning, control, and monitoring of Health Safety and Environment related matters across the company. This includes ensuring that projects and departments comply with PQHSEP/PHSECP design intent, construction drawings, sales and purchase agreements, approved drawings, brochures, and materials. Additionally, the role involves analyzing and identifying defects to improve the overall quality of current and future projects.

Responsibilities:

Planning & Implementation:

  • Consult and assist in the overall planning and implementation of the Safety & Health and Environmental Management System for UEM Sunrise, including workplace quarterly assessments to review the effectiveness and efficiency of the programs implemented.

Processes & Procedures Audit:

  • Ensure applicable procedures and practices comply with the latest ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certifications, and other laws and regulations, avoiding deviations from industry standards.

HIRARC/EAIR/JSA/Legal Compliances:

  • Establish, review, and update the Environmental Aspects and Impacts Register (EAIR), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Hazard Identification Risk Assessment & Risk Control (HIRARC), and other legal requirements as per standards.

SHASSIC Assessment:

  • Provide consultation on CIDB SHASSIC assessment implementation, promoting SHASSIC compliance and best practices from top management to trade workers.

Accident/Incident Investigations:

  • Assist in accident investigation teams for any incidents or near-misses, maintaining records, and proposing mitigation measures to prevent recurrence.

Collaboration with Authorities:

  • Coordinate with DOSH, DOE, and other Government Agencies and Certification Bodies during site inspections, audit activities, and HSE programs to ensure proper execution and compliance with legislative requirements and best practices.

Learning & Development:

  • Ensure all staff, especially Project Management Teams, are familiar with HSE Management System requirements, inspection programs, and activities to foster a preventive culture in HSE practices.

QLASSIC & HOVP Inspections:

  • Assist in the implementation of CIDB QLASSIC assessments and HOVP inspections as per contract requirements and promote QLASSIC awareness and knowledge application among UEMS staff.

Other Tasks:

  • Undertake any additional tasks and assignments as directed by Management.

Requirements:

  • Diploma/Degree in HSE or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the related field.

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Thorough understanding of all related HSE regulations and standards, including HSE Acts and the Factories and Machinery Act.
  • Must be registered as a safety and health officer (SHO) with Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH).
