Position Overview:

We are seeking to grow our team and are currently looking for a skilled Genset Technician. This role is critical in ensuring our generator sets (gensets) operate efficiently and reliably through expert installation, maintenance, and repair. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing routine upkeep, and adhering to the highest safety and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance and Repair:

  • Perform scheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs on gensets to ensure peak performance.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, or other technical problems, and implement timely solutions to restore functionality.
  • Execute preventative maintenance tasks following established schedules to reduce equipment downtime and extend service life.

Troubleshooting and Diagnostics:

  • Identify and troubleshoot genset malfunctions or performance issues, determining root causes and recommending corrective actions.
  • Use diagnostic tools and technical documentation to efficiently resolve equipment problems.

Installation and Setup:

  • Install and configure new gensets and related systems, ensuring alignment with technical specifications and safety standards.
  • Calibrate and optimize equipment to ensure it operates at full capacity and in accordance with client requirements.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Maintain strict adherence to safety guidelines, protocols, and industry standards to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Follow manufacturer guidelines and regulatory standards to ensure all installations and repairs comply with required safety measures.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Accurately document maintenance and repair activities, including parts used and equipment condition, in logs or maintenance systems.
  • Prepare detailed service reports and records to track the performance and history of each genset.

Qualifications:

  • A diploma or technical certificate in mechanical or electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience with genset maintenance and repair.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving both mechanical and electrical issues in gensets, with a solid understanding of control systems and safety protocols.
  • Capable of handling physical tasks, including lifting heavy equipment and working in various environmental conditions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on efficient issue resolution.
