Job Title: Commercial Financial Manager

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Reporting to: Managing Director

Duties and Responsibilities:

Financial Planning and Analysis:

  • Manage financial aspects of projects, ensure proper accounting for project revenue and cost and includes budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and financial reporting for project.
  • Assess financial risks related to project, ensure that potential issues are identified and addressed proactively.
  • Ensure all project related financial activities comply with IFRS and Andritz policies.
  • Coordinate with project teams, finance and accounting teams, JV partners and external auditors to ensure financial information is accurate.
  • Develop and manage financial models and forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
  • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to evaluate business performance and identify growth opportunities.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, highlighting key trends and insights.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to develop and consolidate budgets.
  • Monitor and manage financial performance against budgets and forecasts, recommending corrective actions as needed.
  • Support with the implementation of essential commercial site processes and
    organisation such as cash management, banking and accounting, contract
    management, leading and training of commercial site team (regular site visits
    may be mandatory).
  • Support any related ad-hoc tasks as assigned.

Commercial Strategy:

  • Provide financial input into commercial strategy and business plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Analyze market trends and competitive landscape to support business development and pricing strategies.


Financial Operations:

  • Oversee the financial operations of commercial activities, including revenue recognition, cost management, and cash flow forecasting.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards and implement best practices for financial controls.
  • Legal and financial inputs for claim management.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and operations, to support business initiatives and projects.
    Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including external partners and financial institutions.
    Reporting and Documentation:
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of financial transactions and ensure data integrity.


Personal Requirements & Attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) preferred.
  • Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in financial management, commercial finance, or a similar role, with a track record of driving financial performance.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems).
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Tactful and discreet in dealing with confidential information.
  • Professional, pleasant personality with good interpersonal and communication skills in both English and Bahasa Malaysia (spoken and written).
