Quantity Surveyor

Salary Range: RM4,000 - RM8,000

Job Description

1. Understand client requirements and review quantities based on drawings.

2. Prepare a Bill of Quantities (BOQ) using specification sheets from the sales team.

3. Identify and resolve differences between the BOQ, drawings, and contract terms.

4. Monitor project costs and find cost-saving opportunities.

5. Participate in pre-tender meetings and raise queries.

6. Prepare initial quotes and contracts for the sales team.

7. Coordinate with the design team to review architectural and service drawings.

8. Manage work valuations, claims, and variations.

9. Prepare interim and final valuations and claims for the construction site.

10. Conduct feasibility studies and value engineering.

11. Work with stakeholders to improve project outcomes and maximize value.

Required skills and qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, construction management, or a related field.

2. Open to fresh graduates.

3. Good knowledge of construction industry standards and regulations.

4. Familiarity with guidelines like the National Building Code (NBC), ANSI/ASHRAE for HVAC, and LEED for green buildings.

5. Experience with contract administration and legal aspects of construction.

6. Understanding of different contracting methods and value-based projects, especially in commercial fit-out, residential, hotel, or retail projects.

7. Experience using AutoCAD and verifying quantities from drawings.

Preferred skills:

- Professional membership or certification in quantity surveying or construction management.

- Experience with various construction projects, including residential and commercial sites.
