Job Description

  • Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands, ensuring timely delivery of products.
  • Allocate resources, including manpower, machines, and raw materials, to meet production targets.
  • Collaborate with other departments (such as sales, procurement, and logistics) to align production with business goals.

  • Continuously monitor production processes to identify and implement improvements that enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and lower costs.
  • Implement lean manufacturing techniques, 5S, and other production optimization methodologies.
  • Ensure optimal machine utilization and minimal downtime through effective preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of issues.
  • Developing and implementing innovative strategies to streamline factory operations
  • Responsible for continuous improvement on safety quality and efficiency performance.
  • Ensure that all products meet the quality standards required by customers and regulatory bodies.
  • Oversee the quality assurance process by working with the quality team to monitor product consistency and reduce defect rates.
  • To collaborate with quality control managers to establish and execute quality control processes
  • Investigate and resolve production-related quality issues.
  • Lead and manage production teams, ensuring clear communication of targets and responsibilities.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for production staff to improve skill sets and performance.
  • Monitor workforce performance, implement corrective actions when necessary, and foster a safe and positive working environment.
  • To motivate factory workers to continually achieve factory targets while maintaining high standards of the production line.
  • Monitor production costs and take measures to control and reduce costs where possible.
  • Ensure effective management of raw materials, inventory, and waste to minimize losses.
  • Manage budgets related to production and ensure compliance with financial goals.
  • To maintain costs within the agreed manufacturing budget, meeting reliability targets and KPIs.
  • Responsible for achieving optimum labour and least amount of overhead and raw material costs.
  • Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and policies within the plant.
  • Implement and maintain a safe working environment by conducting regular safety audits, providing safety training, and ensuring the proper use of PPE.
  • Manage environmental impact, ensuring the responsible disposal of waste materials and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Provide technical guidance on the die casting process, including mold design, material selection, and machine operation.
  • Collaborate with R&D and engineering teams to develop new products, improve existing products, and enhance production techniques.
  • Stay updated on the latest die casting technologies and advancements in aluminium and zinc alloys.
  • Quickly and efficiently address production issues, such as equipment malfunctions, material defects, or labor shortages.
  • Analyze root causes of production problems and implement corrective measures
  • To collaborate with maintenance department to ensure factory machinery and equipment are in good working order by following procedures
  • Prepare and present regular production reports, including metrics such as output, efficiency, downtime, and quality levels.
  • Maintain accurate records of production activities, including work orders, machine logs, and quality reports.

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, or related field.
  • Preferably knowledge of aluminium and zinc alloy mold design, alloy properties, and die casting process.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a die casting or metal production environment.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies is a plus.
  • The ability to multitask, strong time management, leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving, especially in troubleshooting production issues and implementing solutions.
  • Effective communication skills for cross-departmental coordination and staff management.
  • Proficient in basic Microsoft Office applications.
